CFC Big Ideas is in the final stages of completing the initial phase of activities in Ghana after the training course addressing conservation crimes. During this course, seven journalists who had the opportunity to participate, received stipends from the United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM).
These journalists are currently engaged in seven compelling investigative journalism projects that tackle pressing environmental concerns, including illegal logging and mining, the impact of pollution, the delicate balance between nature conservation and economic growth, and the consequences of chemical handling in small-scale mining.
The main goal of the project is to enhance the journalists’ capacity to report on nature crimes, raise awareness about nature crimes, uncover the underlying causes, and showcase potential solutions.
