11th Austrian Film Week kicks off in Kyiv with the support of the Austrian Embassy and AMIC Energy

On March 30, the 11th Austrian Film Week opened at Zhovten Cinema in Kyiv with the support of the Austrian Embassy and the general partner, the Austrian gas station chain AMIC Energy. Notable figures, including Ukrainian celebrities and ambassadors from Austria, Finland, and Cyprus, attended the opening ceremony.

During the festival the audience had the opportunity to watch the most striking and resonant Austrian films of recent years including the comedy “Risks and Side Effects,” the biographical drama “Alma and Oscar,” and this year’s novelty – children’s film, “Franz’s Stories”.

The festival was organized by the Austrian Cultural Forum in Kyiv and the Austrian Cooperation Office in Lviv together with the Arthouse Traffic film company and with the support of the general partner AMIC Energy. All ticket sales revenue will be doubled by AMIC Energy and donated to a special account at the National Bank of Ukraine to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Austrian Film Week has been an annual event in Ukraine for more than a decade, with the exception of 2022 when it was canceled due to the Russian full-scale invasion. However, the decision was made to bring back the cultural event to Kyiv due to the power of art to inspire positive emotions, hope, and faith in the upcoming victory.
