On March 4-6, CFC Big Ideas assisted USAGM training “Eradicating Polio, Fighting to the End” in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Twelve journalists from around Pakistan improved their technical capacity to report on polio and related health issues. The training goal was to help Pakistani media to support public health education, particularly regarding polio. It aimed to increase media coverage of polio and routine immunizations, combat negative propaganda against polio on digital platforms and misinformation management. Additionally, the program built a network of reliable health sources and minimized risks of harm and intimidation faced by reporters in the Pakistani region while working on increasing awareness against polio.
Several renowned speakers from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, Voice of America, World Health Organization, and UNICEF talked and trained during the event.
CFC Big Ideas team coordinated the event, secured the venue, arranged flights and travel logistics, booked the hotel and transfer, printed materials, communicated with participants, evaluated the success of the event, planned, monitored, and reported on budget.
