On the eve of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence restoration, CFC Big Ideas contributes to the project called Independent 30 or Stories of Idependence, which was commissioned by the Ukrainian Institute, which is part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and executed by Port.Agency. The project reveals the identity of modern Ukraine and the way it has been shaped.
Independent 30 embarks viewers on a journey through the most tangible episodes of the last three decades which make the basis of today`s Ukrainian nation. Since the proclamation of a sovereign state in 1991 and till the current moment of rapid transformations, the project outlines such events as ratification of the Constitution, the Orange Revolution, the Revolution of Dignity, as well as relevant defining features of these periods.
To portray the image of modern Ukraine, stories of such outstanding personalities as Mustafa Dzemilev, leader of the Crimean Tatar People, Serhii Zhadan, writer and social activist, Serhii Horishchak, a top-class doctor and neurosurgeon, Myroslava Gongadze, journalist and human rights activist, and other cultural, scientific and business figures, are presented on the digital platform. Having projected their unique professional and personal path on certain periods of Ukraine’s independence, each personality outlined symbolic meanings, which shape the perception of present-day Ukraine.
