Voice of America conducted a hybrid transformative training program, “From Polio to Progress: Finishing Polio in the Last Two Frontiers” for Afghan and Pakistani Journalists in Istanbul and Kabul on July 10 – 12, 2023. The program featured presentations of 11 speakers from CDC, UNICEF, NEOC Afghanistan, and WHO.
The objectives of the training were to build the journalists’ technical capacity for reporting on polio and related health issues, to enhance health media campaigns based on lessons learned from reporting on polio and to set impact and agility objectives for polio awareness.
The CFC Big Ideas team prepared and managed the budget for this hybrid event, hired video crew for live broadcasting, provided visa support, booked accommodation for trainees, secured the venue, catering and produced visibility materials, and arranged all travel logistics for participants.
