CFC Big Ideas has partnered with the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) to host a transformative training program for journalists in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from October 9 to 11, 2024. The initiative aimed to equip local media professionals with essential skills and knowledge about the rapidly advancing field of artificial intelligence (AI) and its growing relevance in journalism.
A key focus of the training was to develop practical skills in utilizing Generative AI tools for various journalistic tasks, including news reporting, fact-checking, content creation, and audience engagement. The hands-on approach allowed reporters, editors, and news producers to apply their learning in real-world scenarios, ensuring they left with actionable skills that can be immediately implemented in their work.
CFC Big Ideas will continue helping USAGM nurture a new generation of media professionals adept at leveraging technology responsibly and ethically. This initiative not only strengthens the capabilities of Kazakhstani journalists but also reinforces the importance of independent media in promoting informed societies.
