In December, CFC Big Ideas with USAGM organized three workshops on the Ethical use of AI in Journalism.
Workshops took place on December 5 – 7 in Monrovia, Liberia, on December 11 – 13 in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and on December 18 – 20 in Conakry, Guinea.
The three-day Ethical Use of AI in Journalism workshop trains journalists in various AI tools, exploring benefits and limitations. Topics covered include AI and ML basics, practical sessions on text and image generation, and discussions on ethical concerns, AI mistakes, hallucinations, and automation.
The CFC Big Ideas team was responsible for the training budget and managed project finances, drafted reports, communicated with trainers and local coordinators, arranged training logistics, organized travel for international speakers, and secured venue, catering, and accommodation for out-of-town trainees.
