On January 31 – February 2, USAGM assisted by CFC Big Ideas finalized a 3-day workshop on Reporting Nature Crimes in Libreville, Gabon.
Twenty journalists from around Gabon participated in the training sessions. During the workshop, participants covered topics of Gabon’s efforts to protect the environment and end illegal activities, Illegal logging, mining, fishing and wildlife trafficking in Gabon, solutions journalism, and digital and physical security.
CFC team projected the training budget and managed finances, drafted reports, communicated with trainers and local coordinators, arranged training logistics, organized travel for international speakers, secured the venue, arranged catering and accommodation for out of town trainees, and highlighted the event on social media.
