On July 9, USAGM, supported by CFC Big Ideas, started a training series on Investigative Reporting and Uncovering Corruption focusing on Solutions Journalism in three cities in Uzbekistan with three field trips to Mejlis in Tashkent, IT Village in Samarkand, Artificial Lake in Khiva.
Training courses occured in Tashkent on 9-11 July, in Samarkand on 14-16 July, and in Urgench on 19-21 July.

The workshops were presented by two lead trainers from Ukraine:
Oleg Khomenok – member of the Board of Directors of the Global Network of Journalist-Investigators and a senior advisor for Internews.
Maryna Smahina – Head of the English version of Rubryka, the first media in Ukraine in solution journalism. She is currently a Social Sciences Doctoral student at the University of Helsinki, Finland.
The CFC Big Ideas team handles venue and catering arrangements, travel logistics of participants and trainers, visa support, financial management, technical support (online broadcast, simultaneous interpretation, conference equipment), organization of field trips, communication with all project stakeholders, and on-site event coordination.
