On January 23-25, 2023, CFC Big Ideas organized a USAGM (United States Agency for Global Media) training on election coverage in Abuja, Nigeria. The focus of the workshop was to arm journalists with knowledge of the right theoretical and hands-on tools to engage in pre-, mid- and post-election activity. The training was highly relevant considering the upcoming presidential election in Nigeria on February 25, 2023.
Among the topics covered throughout the three-day training were Ethics of Political Reporting, Journalism: Best Practices of Election Coverage, Public Agenda Setting in Election Coverage, Digital Storytelling, the Art of Interviewing in Election Coverage, and Planning for Election Coverage, Accuracy and Verification – Fact-Checking With Free Tools.

CFC Big Ideas was also responsible for budget management, designing training materials, and arranging travel logistics. Moreover, the team was in charge of drafting final reports for the funding organization.
